Thomas was a two-time All-American for the Huskies, the Southwest Region Player of the Year in 1996, the Big State Conference Player of the Year in 1996, the All-Sectional Player of the Year in 1995, the MVP of the team in 1995, and a four-time team pitcher of the year. He holds the team record for most strikeouts in a game with 22 against LeTourneau in 1996. In the 1995 season, Thomas pitched 121.2 innings with 5 shutouts and a 1.13 ERA. In the 1996 season, he had 20 appearances with 14 of those appearances ending up being wins. That same year he had 165 strikeouts, and 10 complete games. Thomas has the best career earned run average with a 2.46 ERA, the most wins in a career with 40, the most career complete games with 33, the most career shutouts with 11, has the most career innings pitched with 384.2, and has the most career strikeouts with 408.
