Dwight Jones II was a two-year letterwinner for the HBU men’s basketball team from 2005 to 2007. The Klein High School product led the 2006-07 club to the last of the Huskies’ nine-straight Red River Athletic Conference titles and 10th-consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance. Jones is one of only nine players in school history to average more than 20 points per game in a single season, when he averaged 20.8 for the 2006-07 season. He scored 603 points during the 2006-07 campaign, which ranks eighth in a single season, and scored a career-high 34 points at Jarvis Christian on Feb. 26, 2007. Jones was a two-time RRAC Player of the Year and NAIA All-American, averaged 18.8 points per game for his career and he ranks 19th all-time in school history with 1,166 points. He was drafted by both the East Kentucky Miners (CBA) and the Tulsa 66ers (NBDL).
