Matt Perri was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track and field from 2009-2014. In cross country, he was the Great West Conference Male Athlete of the Year in 2011, after winning the individual conference title, was a two-time first-team All-GWC honoree in 2010 and 2011 and earned first-team All-Southland Conference honors in 2013. He finished 15th at the NCAA South Central Regional as a senior, missing qualifying for the NCAA Championships by one spot. On the track, Perri was the 2013 GWC Indoor Male Athlete of the Year, capturing gold in the 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, the distance medley relay and a bronze in the mile. He followed that performance by taking gold in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meters outdoors. In 2012, he took silver in the mile, bronze in the distance medley relay and finished fourth in the 3,000 meters indoors, then gold in the steeplechase, silver in the 5,000 meters and fourth in 1,500 meters. In 2011, Perri won silver in the distance medley relay, bronze in the mile and fourth in the 3,000 meters indoors. He is also one of only three Huskies to win the Robbie Robertson Male Athlete of the Year Award twice.
