Gil was a three-time All-American for the Huskies, and a four-time TAAC Player of the Year. In 1982 and 1985, Gil had 34 total points, which is the sixth highest total in a season. Fourteen of the 34 points were goals in 1982, and 16 were assists in 1985. Gil is the career leader in points with 116, the career leader in goals with 37, and the career leader in assists with 42. He also has the second most career shots attempted with 232, and is second for the most games played in a career with 74.
