Bob Marley was a pioneer of the athletic training program. At the time when there were only eight sports at HBU when Marley started in 1982, and 12 sports in 1989, he was the only full-time athletic trainer. He was the trainer when current HBU softball coach Mary-Ellen Hall was a student-athlete and the softball program began in 1989. Marley was instrumental in the University securing a contract with Memorial Hermann, and he has been an adjunct faculty member with HBU since 2003.

"Bob Marley is one of the most deserving people I know to receive the honor of being inducted into the HBU Hall of Honor," said Hall. "Bob was my trainer at HBU as well as one of my professors. He truly represents the principles that HBU stands for. His hard work and dedication to his students and athletes is an example for us all. I am thrilled HBU is honoring Bob Marley with his induction into the HBU Hall of Honor."
