Cheri was a four-year letterwinner from 2004-07 and truly was a utility player, putting her signature on the Huskies' record book as both a hitter and pitcher. She earned All-America honors in 2004 and 2007, was a three-time Academic All-America selection from 2005-2007 and earned Academic All-Conference honors all four years. Wood was a four-time All-Red River Athletic Conference selection and was named the league's Newcomer of the Year in 2004. She was a .335 career hitter, ranking fifth all-time in hits with 203, second in runs scored (161), tied for third in doubles (43), tied for second in home runs (29), second in walks (66), fourth in RBIs and is the all-time leader in at-bats (658) and games played (220). On the mound, Wood is tied for sixth in appearances (90), sixth in strikeouts (409), fourth in wins (64), fifth in innings pitched (499.2), sixth in ERA (1.19), fifth in complete games (61), sixth in shutouts (23) and is the leader in saves (3). Wood holds the HBU single-season record for wins with 27 in 2007.
