NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans got a walkoff home run from Darren Willis for an 11-10 victory in game one, then kept HBU at bay for an 8-2 win in game two and a sweep of the Southland Conference doubleheader Saturday at Maestri Field.

In the first game, junior third baseman Jake Miller went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run for HBU (2-12, 0-3 SLC). Junior designated hitter Todd Jackson was 3-for-3 with an RBI and run and freshman shortstop Sebastian Trinidad went 2-for-4 with double, two RBIs and a run. Senior rightfielder Brandon Bena went 2-for-4 and scored twice, while senior catcher Matt Solomon homered and drove in four runs.

Junior righthander Andrew Reitmeyer (2-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts in four innings of relief. Senior starter Jacob Coats allowed six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 2.2 innings.

Gaige Howard went 4-for-5 with a double, drove in three and scored a run for UNO (8-7, 3-0) and Isaac Williams went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Travis Grober was 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times and Willis homered and drove in a pair.

Solomon blasted a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Huskies a 4-0 lead, then he and Jackson drew back-to-back bases loaded walks in the second to extend the advantage to 6-0.

UNO answered back with four in the second, highlighted by Howard's bases-clearing double, then the Privateers tied it up with two in the third. HBU regained the lead with three in the fourth, but UNO came back with two in the bottom half and tied it, 9-9, with a run in the fifth.

Neither team scored until the ninth when Miller delivered an RBI single for the Huskies, but Gober drew a leadoff walk and Willis came through with a homer to leftcenter.

In game two, Jackson went 2-for-3 and senior leftfielder Lane Botkin went 1-for-3 with an RBI for HBU. Solomon doubled and scored a run.
