2020: Coats missed the season with an injury…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Spring Academic Honor Roll.
 
2019: Made 15 appearances, including one start…went 3-2 with an 8.03 ERA, 12 strikeouts and 14 walks in 24.2 innings…pitched one perfect inning to pick up his first win at HBU in a 5-2 victory over Northeastern (2/17)…earned the wins in back-to-back one-run victories over Cincinnati on Feb. 22 and 23…went three innings in his lone start of the season at Lamar (4/3)…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Prior to HBU: Played two seasons at Paris Junior College for coach Clay Cox…as a sophomore, made 14 appearances, including one start, going 3-5 with a 6.87 ERA, 39 strikeouts, 22 walks and leading the team with 56.1 innings pitched…as a freshman, made 20 appearances, going 4-5 with a 6.02 ERA, 25 strikeouts and 17 walks in 30.1 innings…lettered one year at Clemens High School.
