HOUSTON – Rice righthanders Addison Moss and Willy Amador combined to shut out HBU on four hits as the Owls claimed the series finale, 6-0, Sunday afternoon at Reckling Park.
Senior leftfielder
Spencer Halloran went 2-for-4 for the Huskies (4-8), while senior designated hitter
Matt Heck also reached safely twice with a single and a hit by pitch.
Each of the Owls' first five hitters had two hits, with Ford Proctor going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run and Braden Comeaux going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Chace Sarchet went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Ryan Chandler and Trei Cruz had two hits and each scored a run for Rice (5-6).
Junior righthander
Daniel Endsley (0-3) took the loss for HBU, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking four in 3.2 innings.
Moss held the Huskies scoreless on one hit with five strikeouts and a walk in 3.2 innings, before leaving with an injury. Amador (2-0) came in and shut HBU out on three hits with a strikeout over the final 5.1 innings.
