HOUSTON - HBU hosts New Orleans in a three-game Southland Conference series Friday and Saturday at Husky Field. Due to expected inclement weather Saturday, the series will open with a doubleheader Friday at 11 a.m. and Saturday's game still scheduled for 1 p.m., but subject to change.
 
The Huskies (21-24, 13-8 SLC) are expected to start junior righthander Zach Carter (3-3, 3.94 ERA), senior lefthander Matthew McCollough (6-2, 2.79 ERA) and junior righthander Brady Batten (3-4, 3.22 ERA). Junior JT Newton leads HBU with four saves.
 
Senior outfielder Matt Heck is hitting .364, is tied for the league lead with nine home runs, ranks second with 41 RBIs to go along with nine doubles, four triples, 27 runs and 10 stolen bases. In conference games, he is leading the triple crown categories, hitting. .422 with seven homers and 30 RBIs. Senior outfielder Spencer Halloran is hitting .326 with eight home runs, 14 doubles, 33 RBIs, 35 runs and 13 stolen bases. Junior outfielder Jonathan Ducoff has a 12-game hitting streak and is hitting .282 with six home runs, nine home runs, 14 RBIs and 21 runs. Senior shortstop Tyler Depreta-Johnson has four home runs and 22 RBIs and has only one error in 201 chances, while senior first baseman Jake Pulcheon has 25 RBIs.
 
UNO (19-27, 8-13) will likely start righthander Brayson Smith (1-3, 4.99 ERA) and lefthanders Bryan Warzek (2-2, 3.21 ERA) and John Michael Stephens (3-4, 4.08 ERA). Reeves Martin leads the team with six saves.
 
Owen Magee is hitting .328 with five home runs, 13 doubles, three triples, 29 RBIs and 27 runs, while Beau Bratton is hitting .308 with two home runs, eight doubles, three triples, 28 RBIs and 31 runs for the Privateers. Pearce Howard and Cody Ducote each have six home runs and 29 RBIs.
 
The all-time series between HBU and UNO is tied, 3-3, with each team taking two-of-three at their home parks.
