FRISCO, Texas – On Thursday afternoon, five HCU baseball players were named to the 2026 Southland Conference All-Academic team in an announcement by the conference office.
Senior catcher
Luke Bard earns a spot after leading the team with a .345 average with 27 runs scored, 22 RBI and 10 doubles. Joining him is senior reliever
Louis Castano who ended the year with a 3.88 ERA in 53.1 innings pitched with 58 strikeouts, a 4-3 record and one save. Redshirt junior
Levi Castilleja led HCU with 12 doubles and a .941 OPS while batting .326 and hitting four home runs with 27 RBI and 22 runs scored. Shortstop
Nico DeFazio joins them having wrapped up his first season with the Huskies batting .278 with 26 runs scored, 22 RBI, four doubles and three home runs. Fifth on the list is first baseman
Katcher Halligan, who closed his senior season with five home runs, nine doubles, 36 RBI, 31 runs scored, a team-high four sacrifice flies and a .997 fielding percentage while starting every HCU game.
