Junior guard Marcel Smith had five assists, freshman guard Reveal Chukwujekwu had four steals, and freshman guard Jacob Gonzalez scored a career-high seven points.

HBU shot 56 percent from the field for the game, including 63 percent in the second half, 13-for-24 from 3-point range, and 12-for-16 from the free throw line. ABC shot 29 percent overall for the game, 5-for-22 from long range, and 12-for-17 from the stripe. The Patriots missed all 11 of their 3-point attempts in the second half. The Huskies outrebounded the Patriots, 48-35, in the game and 28-15 in the second half.

Vilde scored the first three points of the game, but ABC answered with seven-straight to take a four-point lead. Lasher ended the spurt with a three, but a layup by Josh Green and a pair of free throws by Ford put the Patriots up, 13-8, with 14:10 left.

ABC led 15-12, but a three-point play by Lewis tied it, then HBU regained the lead on a long jumper by Russell with 9:39 remaining. Sophomore forward Cody Joyce made a layup, but couldn't convert a three-point play, and pair of free throws by Green kept the Patriots within two. Chukwujekwu found Joyce cutting to the basket for a layup, but Garcia nailed a three on the other end to make it a one-point game. Sophomore forward Dauson Womack drove to the hole and scooped it in, but Garcia once again hit a three to tie it, 23-23, at the 7:47 mark.

Russell's short floater, Chukwujekwu's free-throw line jumper and Lasher's layup put HBU ahead by six, but Ford hit a three from the top of the key to make the score, 29-26, with 4:11 to go. The Huskies went on an 11-1 run as Lasher and Lewis drilled back-to-back threes, Russell knocked down a pair of free throws and Lasher hit another triple to make the lead 42-29. Lewis capped the run with a three-point play and a strong drive to the hole for a layup off the glass. After the Patriots ended their drought with a bucket, HBU followed with an 11-0 run, during which Lewis buried threes on back-to-back possessions to give the Huskies a 37-point lead at the 10:39 mark.

During a 14-0 spurt, Chukwujekwu provided the highlight play of the night, poking the ball away for a steal and getting it back from fellow freshman Alex Fountain for a two-handed slam with 9:14 left. Womack followed that with a three-point play and a pair of free throws, then Chukwujekwu got a dunk off of freshman center Cody Stetler's blocked shot, Fountain took a feed from Chukwujekwu for a tomahawk jam, then Fountain blocked a shot on the other end.
