2013-14 (Freshman): Fountain appeared in 24 games, making three starts…averaged 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game, adding nine blocks, seven assists and five steals…shot 80.0 percent (24-for-30) from the free-throw line…scored a season-high 13 points at Nicholls (1/16)…pulled down a season-high six rebounds at Lamar (1/30).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played all four years at Wartburg Central High School in Wartburg, Tenn., for coach Joe Layne…ranked among the top 20 recruits in his home state according to ESPN, Rivals and multiple other outlets…as a senior, was named Tennessee’s Class A Mr. Basketball, averaging 24.1 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game and leading the Bulldogs to the state semifinals…for his career, scored more than 2,000 points and grabbed more than 1,000 rebounds…as a junior, averaged 23.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals to become a Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association Mr. Basketball Finalist…led the Bulldogs to a 25-5 record and a state tournament appearance…was also named Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State First Team, Region Most Valuable Player, District Player of the Year, Knoxville News Sentinel PrepXtra First Team and multiple-time Knoxville News Sentinel Player of the Week…as a sophomore, the Bulldogs went 25-5 en route to a state tournament appearance…earned all-region and all-district honors…was named all-district as a freshman…played AAU basketball for the Tennessee Travelers in the Elite Youth Basketball League, and was coached by former University Tennessee standout and Denver Nuggets forward Vincent Yarbrough.
