NACOGDOCHES, Texas - HBU heads out for its first Southland Conference road series, taking on Stephen F. Austin Friday through Sunday at Jaycees Field. The Husky Sports Network audio broadcasts with Russ Reneau will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Junior first baseman Johnny Gonzales leads the Huskies (5-11, 0-3 SLC) offensively, hitting .393 with six doubles, two home runs, two triples, 10 RBIs and 10 runs, while senior leftfielder Anthony Jones is hitting .362 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple, 11 RBIs and 10 runs. Junior third baseman Trent Franson and junior centerfielder Chase Talbot have scored nine runs apiece.
 
HBU is expected to start senior righthanders Zach Carter and Brady Batten and junior righthander Kyle Gruller. Senior closer JT Newton has three saves and junior righthander Jacob Coats is 3-1 out of the bullpen.
 
Brandon Uhse is hitting .343 with three doubles, nine RBIs and 11 runs, while Sean Moore is hitting .321 with four doubles, 15 RBIs and five runs for the Lumberjacks (8-10, 3-0). Jared Martin is hitting .281 with three doubles, a home run, a triple, 10 RBIs and 10 runs, while Manny Vasquez and Josh Campbell are tied for the team lead with two homers each.
 
SFA will likely start rigthander Alex Palmer and lefthanders Jaxon Covington and Jacob Stobart.
 
The Huskies return to home to host UTSA Tuesday, before going back on the road to face Tulane in a three-game non-conference series next weekend.
