HOUSTON - HBU hosts Cincinnati in a three-game, non-conference baseball series Friday through Sunday at Husky Field. The Huskies (2-2) will send senior righthander Zach Carter, junior righthander Kyle Gruller and senior righthander Brady Batten to the mound. Senior closer JT Newton has recorded a pair of saves and has moved up to third on HBU's all-time list.
 
Senior outfielder Anthony Jones has hit safely in all four games and is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with three RBIs and three runs, while junior first baseman Johnny Gonzales is hitting .357 (5-for-14) with three doubles, a home run and six RBIs. Junior infielder Nathan Soriano is hitting .267 with five RBIs and four runs and junior infielder Trent Franson is hitting .294 with five runs.
 
The Bearcats (0-3) are likely to counter with righthanders AJ Kullman and Nathan Kroger and lefthander Garrett Shoenle.
 
Joey Weimer is hitting .417 (5-for-12) with an RBI and a run and Jeremy Johnson is hitting .364 (4-for-11) with a home run, an RBI and a pair of runs. Jace Mercer and Wyatt Stapp have each driven in two runs and Mercer has scored three times.
 
This weekend's series will mark the first meeting between HBU and Cincinnati.
 
The Huskies return to action when they travel to face Texas A&M Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in College Station.
