HOUSTON – Southland Conference rivals HBU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will tangle in a non-conference baseball matchup Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Husky Field, the Huskies' lone home contest over an eight-game stretch.
Junior righthander
Hunter McClellan (1-1, 2.87 ERA) will make his second start of the year for HBU (14-18), which has won five of its last seven.
Senior outfielder
Matt Heck is hitting .325 with four doubles, two triples, six home runs, 24 RBIs and 19 runs, while senior outfielder/third baseman
Spencer Halloran is hitting .315 with nine doubles, six home runs, 20 RBIs and 21 runs for the Huskies. Senior first baseman/catcher
Jake Pulcheon has a pair of doubles and 18 RBIs and senior shortstop
Tyler Depreta-Johnson has four homers and 15 RBIs.
Righthander Chad Romere (1-0, 5.73 ERA) is expected to make his first start for TAMU-CC (17-16).
Enrique Sanchez Jr. leads the Islanders, hitting 328 with four doubles, 11 RBIs and 10 runs, while Jackson Owens is hitting .324 with six doubles, four triples, a home run, 20 RBIs and 24 runs. Harrison Dinicola is hitting .320 with 10 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 22 RBIs nad 30 runs and Nick Anderson has eight extra-base hits and driven in 18.
