NEW ORLEANS – HBU won at the top two positions, but 12^th-ranked Grand Canyon took three through five for a 3-2 victory in the Green Wave Invitational at the White Sands Beach Courts.
 
Senior Jessica Wooten and junior Aeriel Horton cruised past Molly Turner and Hannah Towne in the number one matchup, 21-13, 21-16, and senior Kayla Armer and sophomore Tori Hinojosa downed Bella Bauman and Jessica Stansfield at number two, 21-17, 21-19. Senior Kali Fluke and freshman Brennan Miller dropped a 21-18, 21-18 decision to Katie Pyles and Madison Relaz at three and senior Bailey Banks and freshman Katya Silveira fell to Natalie Honzovicova and Katie Sarber at four, 21-14, 21-19. Sophomore Danielle Wheeler and freshman Mikayla Vivens were defeated at five by Jessica Clark and Jamie Walsh, 21-14, 21-10.
 
The Huskies matchup against eighth-ranked LSU was canceled.
 
HBU returns to action at the Battle of the Bayou hosted by LSU Saturday and Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
