HOUSTON – HBU returns home to host Incarnate Word in a three-game Southland Conference baseball series Friday and Saturday at Husky Field. With a strong threat of rain this weekend, the series will begin with an 11 a.m. doubleheader Friday, followed by a single game Saturday at 1 p.m., but please check on HBUHuskies.com and Twitter (@HBUHuskies/@HBUHuskiesBSB) for any changes to the schedule.
The Huskies (16-21, 9-6 SLC) are expected to start junior righthander
Zach Carter (2-3, 4.02 ERA), senior lefthander

Spencer Halloran leads HBU offensively, hitting .349 with a league-leading eight home runs, 27 RBIs and 29 runs, while senior outfielder
Matt Heck is hitting .336, is tied with Halloran for the conference lead with eight homers, six doubles, three triples, 34 RBIs and 23 runs. Junior centerfielder
Jonathan Ducoff is hitting .256 with five home runs, six doubles, nine RBIs and has scored 19 runs, while senior first baseman/catcher
Jake Pulcheon has driven in 21 runs and senior shortstop
Tyler Depreta-Johnson has four home runs and 17 RBIs.
The Cardinals (25-13, 10-5) will likely start righthanders Tyler Miller (3-2, 3.22 ERA), Luke Taggart (5-2, 4.02 ERA) and Bernie Martinez (4-2, 4.12 ERA). Cody Allen (2-2, 2.32 ERA) leads the team with five saves.
Eddy Gonzalez is hitting .408 with six doubles, a triple, a home runs, 24 RBIs and 33 runs, while Kyle Bergeron is hitting .362 with nine doubles, a triple, four home runs, 36 RBIs and 37 runs for UIW. Ridge Rogers is hitting .358 with seven doubles, two triples, 25 RBIs and 26 runs, Lee Thomas is hitting .319 with nine doubles, a triple, two homers and 30 RBIs and David Anaya is hitting .303 with six doubles, two home runs, 30 RBIs and 31 runs.
HBU leads the all-time series against UIW, 33-25, but the Huskies hold a 7-2 mark since both became members of the Southland.
