HOUSTON - HBU travels across town to face Rice in a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Reckling Park.

The Huskies (3-6) look to snap a four-game skid and will likely send junior righthander Zach Carter (1-0, 0.64 ERA), senior lefthander Matthew McCollough (0-0, 4.50 ERA) and junior righthander Daniel Endsley (0-2, 7.71 ERA) to the mound. Senior righthander Matt Heck is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three relief appearances.

Senior outfielder Spencer Halloran has a six-game hitting streak and leads HBU with a .324 batting average, three doubles, a home run, two RBIs and six runs. Senior second baseman Jack Fitzgerald and senior first baseman/catcher Jake Pulcheon are tied for the team lead with eight RBIs.

Rice (3-5), which has also lost its last four, is expected to send righthanders Matt Canterino (0-1, 2.92 ERA),  Ricardo Salinas (0-1, 8.44 ERA) and Addison Moss (0-2, 2.19 ERA) to the hill.

Ford Proctor is hitting .385 to lead the Owls and has driven in five runs and scored four, while Ryan Chandler is hitting .371 with four RBIs and three runs.

Rice leads the all-time series against HBU, 8-0, but the two schools have never faced each other in a three-game series. In the last meeting, Rice edged HBU, 3-1, on May 31, 2015, at the NCAA Houston Regional at Schroeder Park.
The Huskies return to action when they once again go across town to take on Houston Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Schroeder Park. Following Tuesday's game, HBU will have four games remaining on its current 13-game road stretch.

The Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Russ Reneau is available for every road game on HBUHuskies.com and begins 10 minutes prior to each first pitch with the pregame show.
