Highlights of Fitzgerald's 8 RBI
HOUSTON – HBU senior second baseman
Jack Fitzgerald went 3-for-4, hit two home runs, one inside-the-park, totaled eight RBIs and scored three times as the Huskies scored in each of the first six innings to pound Texas Southern, 15-3, in non-conference baseball Tuesday afternoon at Husky Field.
Junior centerfielder
Jonathan Ducoff also went 3-for-4, doubled twice and scored twice, while senior shortstop
Tyler Depreta-Johnson went 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Huskies (2-2). Senior rightfielder
Matt Heck and senior first baseman
Jake Pulcheon each drove in two runs and junior catcher
Erik Voller singled and scored three times. Junior outfielder
Jake Scott came off the bench and went 2-for-2.
Junior righthander
Brady Batten (1-0) picked up the win, allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks in six innings. Junior

Cameron Copeland gave up one run in the ninth.
Christian Sanchez went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBIs and scored twice, while Kamren Dukes doubled and scored a run for the Tigers.
Peyton Schneider (0-1) took the loss for TSU (1-3), giving up four runs on six hits and striking out two in 2.1 innings.
HBU got on the board in the bottom of the first on Pulcheon's two-run single, then Fitzgerald got his banner day started with a sacrifice fly to put the Huskies ahead, 3-0, in the second.
Dukes doubled with one out in the third, then came home on a double by Sanchez. Sanchez scored on an RBI single by Keanu Van Kuren to cut HBU's lead to 3-2.
Ducoff led off the bottom of the third with his second double of the game, then scored on Heck's RBI single. After sophomore third baseman
Elijah Simon led off the fourth with a walk, Fitzgerald blasted a two-run home run to leftcenter to extend the Huskies lead to 6-2.
Depreta-Johnson singled with one out in the fifth, then Voller was hit by a pitch. Fitzgerald then drilled a fly ball to deep center and came all the way for a three-run, inside-the-park home run to make the score 9-2.
HBU then erupted for six runs in the sixth, with Fitzgerald adding a two run single during the rally.
Sanchez hit a solo home run to straight-away center in the ninth for the Tigers.
The Huskies will now play 13-straight games on the road, beginning with a four game series at Fresno State Friday through Sunday. Friday's game begins at 8:05 p.m. CST, followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 4:05 p.m. CST. The series concludes with a 3:05 p.m. CST first pitch Sunday.
