CONWAY, Arkansas - HBU returns to league play looking to snap a five-game losing streak when it travels to face Central Arkansas in a three-game Southland Conference series Thursday through Saturday at Bears Stadium. UCA (9-10, 3-3) is led by Logan Preston, who is hitting .361 with three doubles, 15 RBIs and 10 and Tyler Langley, who is hitting .301 with five doubles, a triple, two home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 runs. Justin McCarty is tied for the Bears' team lead with two home runs and 15 RBIs.
The Bears will likely send righthanders Connor Gilmore (1-3, 4.61 ERA) and Cody Davenport (2-0, 2.27 ERA) and either righty Hunter Neal (0-2, 4.82 ERA) or lefty Chris Durham (2-1, 4.76 ERA) to the mound.
HBU won all five meetings against UCA last season, including a pair of victories over the Bears en route to the Southland Conference Tournament championship. The Huskies lead the all-time series, 5-0, with the three regular-season meetings in Houston and the two postseason games in Sugar Land.
The series concludes an 11-game road swing, with the Huskies returning to host Prairie View A&M Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Husky Field in the first of a four-game homestand.
