LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana - HBU opens Southland Conference play and begins a stretch of 11-straight games on the road when it faces McNeese State in a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Cowboy Diamond. Friday's game begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. start Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.

Greg Espinosa leads HBU (8-5) with a .382 batting average, has recorded three doubles and is tied for the team leads with 10 RBIs and eight runs. Junior rightfielder
Brandon Brintz is tied with Espinosa in RBIs and runs and is tied for the SLC lead with three triples. Senior first baseman
Andrew Alvarez is hitting .340 with four doubles, a home run, seven RBIs and six runs, while senior designated hitter
Austin Saenz has hit safely in the last four games to raise his average to .317.
The Huskies will send junior righthander
Addison Russ (2-0, 2.05 ERA) to the mound Friday, followed by junior lefthander
Christian Thames (0-1, 1.10 ERA) Saturday and righthander
Julian Griego (2-0, 3.32 ERA) Sunday.
McNeese State (6-5) is led by Connor Crane, who is hitting .405 with four doubles, two home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs, while Shane Selman is hitting .375 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, four RBIs and 10 runs. The Cowboys are expected to send righthander Kaleb Fontenot (1-1, 3.94 ERA) and lefthanders Bryan King (1-0, 1.50 ERA) and Austin Sanders (1-1, 3.86 ERA) to the hill.
The Huskies return to action when they play a four-game series on the road against Cal State Northridge March 18-20 in Northridge, California.
