HOUSTON – Big 12 foe TCU escaped Sorrels Field with a 2-1 overtime victory over the HBU women's soccer team, but not before the Huskies fought very hard against the Horned Frogs Sunday evening.

There is a silver lining to the tough loss: The Huskies' goal tonight against the Horned Frogs was the first time HBU scored against TCU since scoring two goals in a 5-2 loss in the 2010 campaign; the season the Huskies won the Great West Conference championship.

The two teams were scoreless entering halftime, as no team had a real advantage in the match. TCU goalkeeper Vittoria Arnold made the save of the match early on as she dove to her left and stopped a point-blank shot by Molly Missimer to keep the match deadlocked. HBU outshot TCU in the first half, 8-7, while TCU had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

TCU scored the match's first goal off a corner kick. Bobbi Clemmer took the corner to the right of keeper Stephanie Castellon and Makenzie Koch kicked it into the back of the net in the 52nd minute.

The score remained that way until Rebekah Tovar was fouled in the box with five minutes left in regulation. Tovar rocketed the ball past TCU keeper Arnold to knot the match at 1-1.

TCU outshot HBU, 7-6, in the second half, while TCU had a commanding 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

It took just 1:53 for the Horned Frogs to score the game-winning goal. Following a Husky turnover in their zone, TCU's Michelle Prokof sent a centering pass into the box to Koch, who headed the ball into the back of the net in the lone shot attempt for either team in the extra session.

Castellon dropped to 0-1-0, as she made seven saves. Arnold made five saves in the win for TCU.

HBU (0-3-0) will compete at the Montana Cup on Sept. 5-7. The Huskies will play the host Griz on the 5th, then Utah Valley on the 7th, both matches at 6 pm central time.
