RUSTON, La. – HCU women's soccer leaves the state of Texas for the first time this season for a Thursday evening matchup against the Grambling State Tigers at 5:00 p.m. at the Ruston Sports Complex.
The Huskies (1-3-1) and Tigers (1-2-1) are set for a rematch of last year's 1-0 HCU victory in Houston. Senior Isabella Dillow scored the match's lone goal in the 73rd minute with an assist from Olivia Rossman.
HCU has dropped its last two matches, at home to Louisiana Tech and, most recently, at SMU. The Huskies have had some tough luck, putting 13 of 19 shot attempts (68.4 percent) on target but not managing to sneak one in over those last two matches.
Grambling has a 2-0 win over ULM on their resume along with a 2-2 draw vs. Nicholls and a 1-0 loss to East Texas A&M. Sophomore Nyla Dore-Anderson leads the Tigers with three goals, all of which came in the last two games, with two in the win over ULM and one at Oklahoma State on Sunday.
The Huskies own a 2-0 all-time record against the Tigers.
Next up for the Huskies following Thursday's matchup is a home game against Tarleton State on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Sorrels Field.
