FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Matt Perri knocked more than three seconds off the HBU indoor school record in the men's 3000-meters Saturday on the final day of the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas. Perri, who won his section of the mile Friday, sped to an 8:21.91 to take second in his section and break the previous record of 8:24.96, set last year by Maximo Mendoza. He finished 12th overall.

The final event of the day saw the Huskies roll to a Great West Conference-leading 3:51.95 in the women's 4x400 relay with a team of Sharonda Bryant, Zelda Abadom, Morgan Pressley and Tramisha McGrew. McGrew, who set a school record in the 400 Friday, anchored the squad in 56.81 as the quartet chopped almost five seconds off their previous season best.

Jake Adkins and Jessica Whitt, both graduates of Deer Park High School, placed 11th in their events, with Adkins throwing the 35-pound weight 15.91 meters/52-2.5 and Whitt clocking 2:15.23 in the 800.

HBU travels to Sterling, Ill., in two weeks for the GWC Indoor Championships, hosted by Chicago State.
