HOUSTON -- In an encore performance after anchoring HBU's women's distance medley relay to a school indoor record Friday night, Hiba Kreidie picked up an individual event record Saturday as she cruised to a 10:13.70 in the 3000-meters at the Houston Indoor Invitational at Yeoman Field House. Her time knocked almost 10 seconds off the previous mark, set by Raquel Tidwell in 2010.

Jade Penick just missed a school record in the women's 20-pound weight throw, tossing the ball 15.82 meters/51-3 to finish eighth and fall only a centimeter short of tying the record set last year by Zakia Tillis.

An exciting women's 4x400 relay saw Tramisha McGrew anchor the Huskies to a Great West Conference-leading 3:56.28 to place sixth overall. Sharonda Bryant, Zelda Abadom and Morgan Pressley put the Huskies in contention before McGrew split 57.8 on the final carry.

In the women's 800, Jessica Whitt ran to a sixth-place finish in a season-best 2:16.54, while Brittane Gaines was ninth overall in the 60 at 7.64 after clocking a sizzling 2012 best of 7.59 to win her prelim. Defending GWC outdoor 100 hurdles champion Amber Goodson lowered her season best to 8.81 in the heats of the 60 hurdles, but chose not to run in the final.

Men's track action saw Anthony Aguinaga roll to a fifth-place finish in the mile at 4:19.64, a 2012 best, and Maximo Mendoza took ninth in the 3000 at 8:43.06. The top field event performer for the HBU men was Jake Adkins, who nabbed a pair of ninth-place efforts in the shot put and 35-pound weight throw.
