HOUSTON – Houston Baptist University junior right-side hitter Isis Gardner has been named to the COBRA Magazine Midsouth All-Region Team, the publication announced.
“Once she learned our system, Isis really stepped up and became a major contributor for us,” HBU head coach Kaddie Platt said. “She's a hard worker and very coachable, so we look forward to great things from her as she comes back for her senior season.”
Gardner averaged 2.70 kills per set for the season, but 3.21 kills per set during Great West Conference play en route to league First-Team All-Conference and All-Newcomer Team honors. She also ranked eighth in the conference with 0.27 service aces per set. The Killeen, Texas, native had 13 double-digit kill matches, including three double-doubles in her first season as a Husky since transferring from North Carolina State.
