VB: Huskies Host McNeese for Third Southland Contest

Huskies return home riding back-to-back sweeps to open conference play.

HOUSTON – Houston Christian Volleyball continues Southland Conference play this Thursday evening, hosting McNeese at 6:30 p.m. inside Sharp Gym. The Huskies (7–8, 2–0 SLC) return home after opening league action with two straight road sweeps.

HCU began its conference slate with a 3–0 win at Texas A&M–Commerce on Sept. 25 before earning another sweep at Northwestern State on Sept. 27. Through two SLC matches, the Huskies have yet to drop a set.
Allana Archie leads HCU's attack with 124 kills on the season, followed by Hannah Redrow with 94 and Joya Euhus with 82. Setter Peyton Fadal has paced the offense with 370 assists, while Bianca Byerly leads the team with 19 service aces and 169 digs. At the net, Archie also leads with 36 total blocks.

As a team, HCU is averaging 12.3 kills and 14.7 digs per set. The Huskies have held opponents to a .210 hitting percentage while posting 78 total blocks through 15 matches.

McNeese enters the match at 5–9 overall and 1–1 in Southland play. The Cowgirls dropped their league opener at Southeastern before edging New Orleans in a five-set match on Sept. 27. Offensively, D'Nari Mills leads the team with 162 kills, while Kinga Ziolkowska has dished out a team-high 303 assists. Libero Lauren Fuller anchors the defense with 181 digs.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs this season. HCU has won the last two matchups, including a 3–1 road win last October in Lake Charles. The Huskies hold a 12–8 all-time advantage in the series.

Following Thursday's match, HCU will remain at home to host Nicholls on Saturday at 1 p.m.
