VERMILLION, S.D. - HBU hits the road for an FCS matchup against Missouri Valley Football Conference foe South Dakota Saturday at 2 p.m. in the DakotaDome. The Husky Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King will be available on KMME Digital Radio and HBUHuskies.com.
 
Junior quarterback Bailey Zappe has completed 44-of-60 passes for 549 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions for the Huskies (1-1). Sophomore running back Ean Beek has rushed for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Junior wide receiver Ben Ratzlaff has 15 catches for 198 yards and a score, while sophomore Jerreth Sterns has 14 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown.
 
Junior linebacker Caleb Johnson leads the Southland Conference with 23 tackles, has recovered a fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown. Senior defensive end Andre Walker leads the league with 3.5 sacks and is HBU's all-time leader with 15.0. Sophomore Brennan Young has made 18 stops and freshman safety Tra Fluellen and junior cornerback Delon Smith each have a pick.
 
Junior punter Blake Patterson averages 42.1 yards per kick to rank fourth in the league and freshman kicker Gino Garcia is 3-for-4 on field goal attempts and 9-for-11 on extra points.
 
Austin Simmons has completed 48-of-67 passes for 490 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing for 53 yards for the Coyotes (0-2). Kody Case has 17 catches for 212 yards and three touchdowns and Canaan Brooks is the team's leading rusher with 57 yards.
 
Elijah Reed leads the defense with 20 tackles, with Jake Matthew and Jack Cochrane adding 12 each.  Cochrane and Mark Collins each have an interception this season for USD.
 
Saturday marks the first meeting between the schools on the gridiron.
 
The Huskies return home for three-straight, beginning with the Southland Conference opener against Northwestern State Saturday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
