NEW ORLEANS - HBU finishes off a six-game road trip, facing New Orleans in a three-game Southland Conference series Friday through Sunday at Maestri Field. The Husky Sports Network audio broadcasts with Russ Reneau will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Junior rightfielder Brandon Bena is hitting .324 with 12 doubles, five home runs, 35 RBIs and 31 runs, while senior catcher Erik Voller is hitting .292 with 10 doubles, two home runs, 21 RBIs and 25 runs for the Huskies (17-30, 9-15 SLC). Junior first baseman Johnny Gonzales has an eight-game hitting streak and is batting .280 with six home runs, 12 doubles, four triples, 27 RBIs and 30 runs, while junior second baseman Trent Franson has reached safely in 24-straight games and is hitting with .284 with 10 doubles, a triple, 10 RBIs and a team-leading 38 runs.
 
HBU is expected to start senior righthanders Zach Carter and Brady Batten and junior righthander Kyle Gruller. Senior closer JT Newton leads the team with seven saves.
 
Gaige Howard is hitting .333 with eight doubles, a triple, a home run, 23 RBIs and 32 runs, while Collin Morrill is hitting .292 with six home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 30 RBIs and 45 runs for the Privateers (25-24, 9-15). Pearce Howard is hitting .270 with five homers, 11 doubles, 26 RBIs and 32 runs and Luther Woullard is hitting .287 with 12 doubles, two home runs, 35 RBIs and 30 runs.
 
UNO is likely to send lefthander Brandon Mitchell and righthanders Chris Turpin and Steven Swift to the mound. Reeves Martin is 3-0 with an 0.87 ERA and 13 saves and Mathew Oset is 7-1 out of the bullpen.
 
The Privateers lead the all-time series against the Huskies, 7-5, winning two-of-three in Houston during the regular season and two-of-three at the Southland Conference Tournament.
 
HBU wraps up the regular season at home next week against McNeese Thursday through Saturday at Husky Field. Saturday will be Senior Day as the Huskies honor the eight members of the 2019 class.
