HOUSTON - HBU hosts Abilene Christian in a three-game Southland Conference series Friday through Sunday at Husky Field. The Husky Sports Network video broadcasts with Russ Reneau and live stats will be available on HBUHuskies.com.

Junior first baseman Johnny Gonzales is hitting .296 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs, 18 RBIs and 20 runs, while junior rightfielder Brandon Bena has a 12-game hitting streak and is now hitting .296 with eight doubles, a home run, 17 RBIs and 21 runs for the Huskies (10-22, 3-9 SLC). Junior third baseman Trent Franson is hitting .280 with nine doubles, a triple, eight RBIs and a team-leading 24 runs, while junior leftfielder Ryne Edmondson has reached safely in 13-straight games and is hitting .277 with three doubles, a home run, 11 RBIs and 13 runs. Senior catcher Erik Voller has a nine-game hitting streak and is hitting .268 with six doubles, two home runs, 17 RBIs and 14 runs.

HBU is expected to start senior righthanders Zach Carter, who has thrown 14-consecutive shutout innings, and Brady Batten, then junior righthander Kyle Gruller. Senior closer JT Newton leads the team with three saves.

Luis Trevino is hitting .417 with six doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs and 24 runs, while Koby Claborn is hitting .327 with seven doubles, a triple, five home runs, 31 RBIs and 17 runs for ACU (17-15, 5-7). Dalton Dunn is batting .320 with seven doubles, a triple, three home runs, 13 RBIs and 23 runs and Derek Scott is hitting .297 with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs, 16 RBIs and 25 runs.

The Wildcats will likely send righthanders Spencer Chirpich, Brock Barger and Jonathan Nicholson to the mound. Brennan Lewis has seven saves on the year for ACU.

The Huskies return to action when they travel to face Texas State Tuesday at 6 p.m. in San Marcos, before a three-game conference set with Incarnate Word Thursday through Saturday in San Antonio.
