AUSTIN, Texas – Day three of the Texas Relays ended with a new PR for sophomore
Kaitlin Smith as nine Huskies competed at the 92
nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Smith, running in the prelims of 100 meter hurdles, come in second in her heat with a time of 14.26 which was less than a tenth of a second behind the heat's winner. Senior
Ana Kriletic finished her heat in the event in 15.42.
Christopher Welch was one of just two freshmen in the A section of the triple jump, placing 10
th out of 14 competitors and eighth among collegians with a jump of 15.13m/49-7.75. Fellow freshman
Garrett Gibson posted a time of 14.74 in the 110 meters hurdles prelims and the women's 4x100 relay team of
Roxane Adama,
Joelonce Hubbard,
Shantelle Slaughter and
Tay Nance finished in 48.53.
The men's 4x800 relay team of
Christos Zachariou,
Cody Hammonds,
Travis Jacobs and
Zion Walker will wrap up the Texas Relays for HBU on Saturday, Mar. 30.
