NEW ORLEANS - HBU will take a break from Southland Conference play to face Tulane in a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The Husky Sports Network audio broadcasts with Russ Reneau will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Junior first baseman Johnny Gonzalez is hitting .338 with six doubles, two triples, two home runs, 11 RBIs and 11 runs for the Huskies (5-15). Junior second baseman Hayden Baker has hit safely in six straight and is batting .297 with five doubles, eight RBIs and eight runs, while junior third baseman Trent Franson has a nine-game-hitting streak and is now batting .271 with two doubles, a triple, three RBIs and 10 runs.
 
HBU will likely start senior righthanders Zach Carter and Brady Batten and junior righthander Kyle Gruller. Senior righthander JT Newton leads the team with three saves.
 
Kody Hoese is hitting .400 with 10 home runs, five doubles, 22 RBIs and 23 runs, while Trevor Jensen is hitting .356 with four homers, six dobules, a triple, 18 RBIs and 23 runs for the Green Wave (14-7). Hudson Haskin is hitting .350 with four home runs, six doubles, 24 RBIs and 20 runs, while Kobi Owen and David Bedgood each have four home runs.
 
Tulane is expected to start righthanders Kaleb Roper, Keagan Gillies and Chase Solesky.
 
This weekend's series marks the first-ever meetings between the two programs.
 
HBU returns home to host Prairie View A&M Tuesday at 3 p.m., followed by Northwestern State in league play on the weekend at Husky Field.
