EDINBURG, Texas – HBU travels to take on UT Rio Grande Valley for its first road game of the season Tuesday at noon at UTRGV Stadium. The Husky Sports Network audio broadcast with Russ Reneau will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
 
Senior righthander Daniel Endsley will make his 2019 debut after missing most of last season and being granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA following Tommy John Surgery. The Las Vegas native is 3-5 with a 4.24 ERA, one save and 57 strikeouts in his two seasons with the Huskies.
 
Junior first baseman Johnny Gonzales led HBU (2-1) offensively during opening weekend, hitting .400 (4-for-10) with three doubles, a home run, six RBIs and a run. Senior designated hitter Anthony Jones hit .455 (5-for-11) with a double, three RBIs and three runs. Junior infielder Nathan Soriano hit .364 (4-for-11) with a triple, five RBIs and four runs, while junior infielder Trent Franson hit .385 (5-for-13) and scored five runs.
 
Righthander Jerred Quartier is expected to start for UTRGV (1-2). He made 11 appearances, including three starts, last season, going 0-2 with an 8.34 ERA, 19 strikeouts and 13 walks.
 
Andy Atwood leads the Vaqueros, hitting .385 (5-for-13) with a home run, two RBIs and three runs. Coleman Grubbs and Christian Sepulveda each had three hits in the weekend series against Oklahoma State.
 
The Huskies return home to host Cincinnati in a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Husky Field. Friday's opener begins at 2 p.m. and each game's video broadcast will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
