HOUSTON – HBU softball continues its Southland Conference slate at Lady Demon Diamond in Natchitoches, Louisiana to take on Northwestern State Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday with a double header starting at 12 p.m.
The Huskies are led by junior
Demi Janak, who is hitting .304 at the plate with six doubles, eight home runs, 24 RBIs, and 18 runs scored. Sophomore
Heidi Jaquez is batting .286 with six doubles, six home runs, 20 RBIs, and 23 runs scored, while junior
Nicole Shedd has produced a .262 batting average and leads the team with eight doubles.
Cayla Jones leads the Lady Demons (24-20, 11-10 SLC) with a .421 batting average. She leads the team with nine home runs, 33 RBIs and 33 runs scored. Sidney Salmans has registered .300 batting average with seven doubles, eight home runs, 29 RBIs and 21 runs scored, while Emma Hawthorne is hitting .241 with eight doubles, four home runs, 27 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
HBU trails the all-series against Northwestern State 13-4.
The Huskies have one more series of the regular season set at Huntsville against Sam Houston State Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5.
