HOUSTON – Due to projected weather, HBU softball postpones its three-game series against Stephen F. Austin to Saturday with a double header starting at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Sophomore
Heidi Jaquez leads the Huskies (7-23, 4-11 SLC) at the plate with a .303 batting average overall and .340 batting average in conference play. She leads the Huskies with 22 runs scored and is tied with the team-high six doubles and five home runs. Junior
Demi Janak is batting .293 with four doubles, five home runs, leads the team with 20 RBIs and has 14 runs scored. Senior
Nicole Shedd contributes a .277 batting average with a team high six doubles.
Freshman
Jessica Patak (4-13) has started 17 games and appeared in 22 earning a 3.89 ERA in 111.2 innings, while freshman
Elliott Estes (2-5) has appeared in 15 games with six starts obtaining a 4.32 ERA in 48.2 innings.
SFA (21-17, 9-6 SLC) is led by Bryana Novegil, who leads the conference in on base percentage (.533), and triples (5) and has the conference's second highest batting average (.417). Amber Landry is hitting .315 and leads the team with seven home runs and 30 RBIs. Taylor Fraccastoro leads the team with nine doubles and 30 RBIs.
Makayla Sikes (13-6), who has the second most wins in the conference, leads the pitching staff with 109.2 innings pitched and has earned a 2.23 ERA. Callee Guffrey (5-8) has appeared in 71.2 innings and has a 3.81 ERA.
The Huskies travel to UTSA for a mid-week non-conference game Tuesday, April 17 at 6 p.m., before returning home to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 for their final home SLC series this season. The Huskies will also celebrate the 2018 senior class Saturday after the game.
