ABILENE, Texas - HBU plays its second-straight Southland Conference road series when it faces Abilene Christian Friday through Sunday at Crutcher Scott Field. Friday's opener begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. start Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
 
The Huskies (14-19, 7-5 SLC) will likely start junior righthander Zach Carter (1-3, 2.89 ERA), senior lefthander Matthew McCollough (4-1, 2.57 ERA) and junior righthander Brady Batten (2-4, 3.30 ERA).
 
Senior outfielder/third baseman Spencer Halloran has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, posting a .405 batting average with six doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs and nine runs during that stretch to raise his season numbers to .323 with 10 doubles, six home runs, 20 RBIs and 22 runs. Senior outfielder Matt Heck is hitting .320 with four doubles, three triples, six home runs, 25 RBIs and 20 runs. Halloran and Heck are one off the league lead in homers. Senior first baseman/catcher Jake Pulcheon has driven in 18 and senior shortstop Tyler Depreta-Johnson has four home runs and 15 RBIs.
 
ACU (16-15, 3-12) is expected to start righthanders Brock Barger, Garrett Hutson and Jonathan Nicholson.
 
Caleb Kyle is hitting .351 with seven doubles, two triples, three home runs, 17 RBIs and 26 runs for the Wildcats, while Dalon Farkas is hitting .320 with 12 doubles, a triple, four homers, 23 RBIs and 26 runs. Derek Scott is hitting .317 with nine doubles, three home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 21 runs.
 
HBU leads the all-time series against ACU, 8-4, after sweeping last year's three-game series in Houston and have won four-straight overall.
 
The Huskies return to action when they face McNeese in a non-conference matchup Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
