HOUSTON – HBU softball continues its six game road series at Incarnate Word beginning with a single game Thursday, March 29 at 6 p.m. and a double header Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m at Cardinals Field.
Senior
Nicole Shedd leads the Huskies' (5-17, 2-7 SLC) offense with a .302 batting average with a team high five doubles, had two homeruns, 11 RBIs and six runs scored. Junior
Demi Janak leads the team with 14 RBIs, while batting .298 at the plate. Sophomore
Heidi Jaquez has a .292 batting average and leads the team with 16 runs scored, five RBIs and four homeruns overall. In conference play, she leads the team with .379 batting average, four doubles and nine runs scored.
Freshman
Jessica Patak (3-10, 2-4 SLC) holds a 3.74 ERA in 86.0 innings, earning her two Southland Conference wins in the Huskies' most recent series against Abilene Christian. Freshman
Elliott Estes (1-2, 0-1 SLC) has a 4.75 ERA in 28.0 innings.
UIW won the series against Central Arkansas, 2-1 and lost the series agianst McNeese, 3-0. Hope Sobolewski leads the Cardinals (6-18, 2-7 SLC) with a .313 batting average with a double, three home runs and 12 RBIs. Sarah Leal (5-7, 2-3 SLC) leads the team in the circle with a 4.60 ERA in 70.0 innings.
HBU leads the all-time series over Incarnate Word, 45-24.
The Huskies return home for a non-conference mid-week tilt versus UT Arlington Tuesday, April 3 at 3 p.m.
