HAMMOND, Louisiana – Southeastern Louisiana broke open the game by batting around and scoring five runs in the seventh inning to down HBU, 8-2, in the Southland Conference series finale Sunday afternoon at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Matt Heck doubled for HBU (9-15, 3-3 SLC), while senior shortstop
Tyler Depreta-Johnson and junior
Grant Buck each recorded an RBI.
Junior righthander
Brady Batten (2-3) took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 6.1 innings.
Trenon Trosclair went 2-for-3 with a home run and drove in a pair for SLU (18-8, 7-2), while Kyle Schimpf also went 2-for-3, drove in two and scored.
Kade Granier (2-2) hurled seven shutout innings, holding the Huskies to three hits and striking out nine with no walks.
The Huskies return for a four-game homestand, beginning with a non-conference matchup against UTSA Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Husky Field. HBU then hosts Lamar in a three-game conference series Thursday through Saturday.
