2017 (Junior): Luna made six appearances, including one start…allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts in two innings of relief against Rhode Island (2/25)…tossed a scoreless inning in three-straight relief appearances against Stephen F. Austin (3/14), UTSA (3/21) and Texas Southern (4/5)…allowed three runs on four hits in 2.2 innings in his lone start at UTSA (4/25)…pitched a scoreless inning with a strikeout and a walk in a win over Central Arkansas in the Southland Conference Tournament (5/26)…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
Previous School: Played at North Central Texas College for coach Eric Wright...was an outfielder and pitcher…as a sophomore, hit .301 with five doubles, two home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs…as a freshman, hit .286 with a double, five RBIs and three runs in 21 at-bats.
 
High School: Was a four-year starter at Caldwell High School for his father, coach Louie Luna...earned all-state honors at second base…was an All-Brazos Valley selection…twice earned all-district honors at shortstop…named All-District MVP and Offensive MVP…played club baseball for the Houston Cardinals and coach Jimmy Kirk.
 
Personal: Full name is Tanner Luna...born Oct. 31, 1995, in Seguin, Texas…son of Louie and Mendy Luna…has two sisters, Olivia and Sophia, and one brother, Logan…majoring in legal studies.
