BirdieFireHOUSTON – The HBU men's golf team carded a 22-over 310, falling to 15th after two rounds in the All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Saturday.
Redshirt sophomore
Val Almendarez (72-74) once again led the Huskies (301-310 – 611) on the 7,096-yard, par-72 course, turning in a two-over 74. The San Antonio native, who scored three birdies for a second consecutive round, is tied for 21st overall in the 90-man field with a two-over 146.
The HBU trio of
Carlos Trevino (76-78 – 154),
Zach Campbell (77-78 – 155) and
Guillaume Chalancon (76-80 – 156), entered the clubhouse within two strokes of each other to hold shares of 58th, 64th and 68th, respectfully.
Freshman
Daniel Dimaculangan (80-82 – 162) closed the scorecard with a 10-over 82 to take 84th place.
The Huskies will close the tournament with their third and final round, starting in an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.
