HOUSTON - Houston Christian's golf team got off to a challenging start at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood GC in Houston. After two rounds on Monday, the Huskies sit in 11th place with a team score of +23, competing against strong programs like Rice, Houston, and Lamar.

Senior Roy Barrera shot 75 in both rounds (+6, tied 46th). He played steady golf, navigating the front and back nines with several pars and key birdies, though a few mistakes on the back nine kept him from climbing the leaderboard.

The junior Brooks Pawlak opened with a 76, then bounced back with a 74 (+6, tied 46th). He made a few well-timed birdies while keeping mistakes minimal, showing resilience and focus throughout the day.

Mason Napier, senior, recorded rounds of 74 and 78 (+8, tied 56th). He had a strong front nine in round one but struggled with bogeys on the back nine. His experience helped him handle the course's challenges and stay competitive.

Junior transfert, John "Cooper" Camp finished +8, tied for 56th, with rounds of 74 and 78. He maintained steady play on the front nine but faced higher scores on the back nine, showing determination as a junior leader for the Huskies.

Carter Patterson, senior transfer, shot 76 in both rounds (+8, tied 56th). He kept a steady pace throughout both rounds, limiting mistakes and helping anchor the team's effort in the early stages of the tournament.

Incomeing freshman, Julian Worrell posted rounds of 76 and 77 (+9, tied 64th). As a freshman, he showed promise and composure navigating a tough course, indicating strong potential for the rest of the season.
