HOUSTON – After a successful showing at the Emory Crossplex Invitational last Sunday, the HBU men's and women's track and field teams look to maintain the momentum when they compete in the two-day University of Houston Indoor Invitational Friday and Saturday from Yeoman Fieldhouse inside the Athletics/Alumni Center.

Friday's first event begins at 10 a.m. while Saturday's initial event commences at 9 a.m. Live stats can be followed at the link above.

This weekend marks the first heptathlon for seniors Garrison Fick and Shawn O'Brien. Fick holds the indoor school record in the heptathlon as he garnered 4,835 points at the Southland Conference Championships last February.

Gbemisola Orundami, Jazmine Warden, and Milan Fisher will compete in the 400m, each looking to reach the finals set for Saturday at 1:25 p.m. On the flip side, David Racine, Nicholas Smith, and Jarell McFarland will look to reach Saturday's finals.

Four Huskies will compete in the women's 60m preliminaries on Friday, beginning with Reagan Jones. Tambrisha Banks and Imani Carr will race against each other in one heat while Lakesha Cameron will race in the final heat of the day.

The HBU men will also be featured heavily in the 60m, as Jordan Claypool and Sean Walker race against each other in the first heat. O'Brien, Cameron Frelow, Ryleigh Mims, and D'Angelo Wallace will also compete in the event, looking to reach Saturday's final.

Briana O'Brien will be one of 49 athletes competing in the women's weight throw, beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The running finals as well as the finals of the long jump, triple jump, and pole vault will be held Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for youth.
