High School: Smith was a two-year letterwinner at Gilmer High School for Coach Jeff Traylor...recorded 64 tackles, three sacks and a defensive touchdown…in two seasons, made 69 catches for 1,199 yards (17.4 yards per catch) and 14 touchdowns…also played basketball, averaging 9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game…won the state title in the 300-meter hurdles and helped his sprint relay team claim silver at the state track meet…was a member of the National Honor Society.
