Match Play ResultsGARLAND, Texas – HBU women's golf signee Kaitlyn Cummings won the North Texas PGA (NTPGA) Junior Match Play Championship on the Old Course at Firewheel Golf Park on Sunday.
Competing in the 15-18 age group, Cummings defeated Launa Wilson (2 & 1), Madigan Murray (4 & 3), Anna Takahashi (2 & 1) and Camille Enright (2 & 1) to win the five-day NTPGA tournament
on the 6,054-yard course.
In match play, a golfer earns a point for each hole in which they have a lower score than the opponent. However, a match does not have to go to the full 18 holes to determine the winner. If a golfer is up two points with one hole to go, then the match is over (2 & 1).
