AUSTIN, Texas — The Houston Christian women's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, finishing 13th overall with a three-round total of +113 at The University of Texas Golf Club.
The Huskies posted rounds of +49, +39 and +25 across the two-day tournament while competing against a strong 16-team field that included multiple nationally ranked programs. Texas, ranked No. 7 nationally, claimed the team title at +13, followed by Arkansas (+35) and Oklahoma (+40).
HCU closed the tournament with its best round of the event, carding a +25 team score in the final round.
Natcha Makmanee paced the Huskies once again, finishing 17th overall at +13 after a final-round 75 (+3). Makmanee opened the round with an impressive 35 on the front nine, highlighted by three birdies on holes 1, 4 and 7. She added another birdie on the par-4 15th on the back nine before finishing with a 40 on the inward side.
Sara Pihlajamaki posted one of HCU's most consistent rounds of the day with a 76 (+4). She recorded a 39 on the front nine and followed with a 37 on the back, highlighted by birdies on the par-3 16th and par-4 12th.
Alejandra Ferrer finished the final round with a 78 (+6). Ferrer carded a 41 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 fifth, before improving on the back side with a 37, including a birdie on the par-4 16th.
Alyssa Stewart recorded an 80 (+8) to close the event. Stewart turned in a 39 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 fifth, before finishing with a 41 on the back nine.
Hailey Hendershott rounded out the lineup with an 85 (+13) in the final round. Hendershott recorded a birdie on the par-4 third hole during the opening nine.
Texas secured the tournament title after posting a final-round -4, the only under-par team round of the event. Arkansas finished second at +35, while Oklahoma climbed into third with a final-round -3.
The Huskies will return to action March 30–31 when they travel to Mobile, Alabama, for the ULM Invitational as they continue the spring portion of their schedule.
