FRISCO, Texas – HCU sophomore
Ploy Makmanee has been selected the Southland Conference Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 season and is one of five Huskies to be named Academic All-Conference.
Makmanee, the 2025 SLC Freshman of the Year, becomes the program's third-ever SAOY selection, joining previous winners Lexi Brooks (2017) and Sara Zrnikova (2020). The sophomore owns a 3.90 cumulative GPA and a national ranking of #428. Makmanee boasted a scoring average of 74.6 this past season with a pair of top-three finishes and six top-10 finishes. She also ended the season with a won-loss-tie mark of 572-223-9.
Alejandra Ferrer earns her first academic all-conference selection following a senior year in which she posted a top-10 finish at the SLC Championships and a season stroke average of 76. Senior
Hailey Hendershott finished the year with a 77.2 scoring average while
Alyssa Stewart ended her sophomore campaign with a 482-296-26 W-L-T record and three top-three finishes. The fifth selection for the Huskies is 2026 SLC Individual Champion and Freshman of the Year
Sara Pihlajamaki. Pihlajamaki won the SLC title by five strokes and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in her first year of collegiate golf.
