Sara Pihlajamaki closed out her first round at the NCAA Waco Regional with an eight-over-par 78 at Ridgewood Country Club on Monday.
Pihlajamaki had a tough start, bogeying the first three holes of her day. As she went through her first nine holes, Pihlajamaki found her self sitting at +7. She then put together a run of seven-straight pars on her back nine and finished the final nine shooting one-over-par.
Her 78 places her in a tie for 56
th individually out of 65 competitors in the field.
Pihlajamaki tees off for round two at Ridgewood CC at 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12.
