Tickets SUGAR LAND, Texas - HBU will be the seventh seed in the 2015 Southland Conference Tournament and will face second-seeded Northwestern State in the first round Wednesday at noon at Constellation Field.
The Huskies (24-25, 14-13 SLC) are led by a pair of first-team all-conference selections in senior centerfielder
Zach Nehrir, who is hitting .342 with nine doubles, five triples, four home runs and 42 RBIs, and senior catcher
Samm Wiggins, who is hitting .326 with 15 doubles, five home runs, 26 RBIs and a team-leading 32 runs. Senior third baseman/pitcher
Curtis Jones was named the SLC Utility Player of the Year for the second-straight season, while junior shortstop
Louie Payetta was a third-team all-conference pick and junior lefthander
Matthew McCollough earned honorable mention.
HBU is making its first-ever appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament, in its second year in the league. The Huskies and Demons will be facing each other for the first time as SLC foes, but the Northwestern State leads the all-time series, 6-0.
