Golfstat | SLC Golf Championship PageMcKINNEY, Texas – The HBU men's golf team carded a 326 and 312 across their final two rounds to take eighth place with a 72-over 936 in the 52nd annual Southland Conference Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday.
Huskies
Preston Stanley (74-76-77 – 227),
Isaiah Huerta (71-85-72 – 228) and
Andy Ariens (71-78-83 – 232) all finished within five strokes of each other after 54 holes on the par 72, 6,262-yard Hill Course at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club.
Stanley turned in scores of 76 and 77 for the day to finish in a three-way tie for 14th place at 11-over par, while Huerta fired 85 and 72 to claim a share of 17th one stroke back. Ariens shot 78 and 83 to tie for 22nd at 16-over par.
Senior
Trey Cassity (84-87-80 – 251) and freshman
Raul Hernandez (82-88-89 – 259) rounded out the HBU scorecard, taking 50th and 54th overall at 35- and 43-over par.
Sam Houston State won the conference title with an 881 team score, followed by McNeese State (883), Southeastern Louisiana (919), Lamar (924), Abilene Christian (931), Incarnate Word (932), Stephen F. Austin (933), HBU, Nicholls (943), New Orleans (952) and Central Arkansas (954).
